We have been retained to search for a Group Head of Finance. Our client is a leading Irish group of diversified business interests, mainly in manufacturing and property development.
Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this person will be a key member of the senior leadership team, with overall responsibility for group finance and key in supporting group commercial strategy. The core vision of this role is to lead the finance teams in bringing finance, data and commercial strategies together to ensure a holistic, comprehensive view across their consolidated financial performance for Group.

Key responsibilities:

• Key support to the Group CEO, ensuring clear and concise communications against individual and group financial reports, cash flow management, along with variance analyses against budgeting & forecasts reports.
• Adopt a multi-dimensional perspective when supporting the CEO on key investment decisions.
• Prepare the financial analysis for business cases for new business initiatives, build predictive return-on-investment models and performance monitoring processes.
• Sound knowledge of tax business implications (for example capital acquisition tax and exit strategy) working closely with external tax advisors to ensure the most tax efficient transactional and SPV structuring is achieved.
• Own and monitor group annual budget and quarterly reviews.
• Ensure full, timely, accurate and insightful management information and reporting is in place, including: Weekly/monthly management accounts, Revenue and margin/profitability analysis, Cost and capex analysis, Monthly Board pack
• Prepare and finalize group year-end financial statements, ensuring the auditor is provided with all the necessary information required to complete the annual audit.
• Develop and enhance financial policies, management information packs, KPI reports, procedures and controls for all business divisions / entities.
• Review and implement enhanced well documented group financial control procedures
• Lead and mentor an experienced finance team, encouraging and enabling an environment of continuous learning and improvement
• Develop a more commercial, pro-active finance business partnering culture to support the respective senior management teams of each business entity across the group.
• Manage the banking relationships across existing and new lending facilities, cashflow management reports etc.
• Ensure all statutory and where applicable, regulatory reporting requirements are met in a full, timely and accurate manner.
• Embedding a culture of strong cost control and visibility throughout the business.

Ideal candidate profile:

• Great energy, a natural people's person with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adept ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful, easy to follow and easy to use data to support financial and commercial decisions.
• A recognised accounting qualification (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with 10 years + PQE.
• Strong track record operating at a senior finance level within the property development and manufacturing (B2B or B2C), retail-based industry sectors. Experience in managing a business function of at least ₠25m + turnover.
• Self- starter, ambitious and entrepreneurial.
• A confident, result orientated, fair and straight-talking leader that leads by example and can multi-task and prioritise well.
• Strong in building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Good emotional intelligence with solid leadership and mentorship skills.
• Ability to provide accurate KPIs reporting insights across individual and consolidated group basis.
