Finance Manager, Fixed Assets

Description:
Amazon is seeking a Finance Manager within Customer Fulfilment Operations to support the European wide management of fixed assets, specifically focusing on asset ordering, receipt, repair, transfer and disposal. This will include involvement in projects to drive improvement in the fixed asset management processes worldwide.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Driving the improvement of fixed asset management, ensuring accurate records of asset additions, transfers and disposals.
• Providing a link between Accounting and Operations Finance to ensure month end close processes are managed effectively and accurately.
• Lead and contribute to worldwide projects to automate manual processes.
• Engage with Corporate and Field Finance teams within European Operations to support asset register maintenance.
• Work with FC launch teams to manage the additions of new fixed assets onto the register to ensure correct in service dates.

Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS required
• ACCA, ACA, and CIMA or similar credentials
• Relevant accounting experience (public accounting /industry mix preferred)
• Exposure to operational accounting concepts of inventory, procurement, payables, receivables, and revenue
• Demonstrated ability participating in milestone driven projects
• A strong desire to exceed expectations
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Solid organizational, project management skills, and information technology aptitude

The ideal candidates will be experienced, talented finance or accounting professionals who are passionate and excited about fixed asset accounting and reporting and have experience with the details of a monthly close cycle, periodic financial reporting and related analytical analysis.

• Manage and prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Access, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems such (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Previous experience within a Manufacturing, Distribution Center or Logistics processes and systems a plus
