Job Description

Accountemps is looking for an experienced, organized individual to take on the short-term temporary-to-full-time position of Staff Accountant at a growing, dynamic company in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. As a Staff Accountant you will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact:
- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures
ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid
expenses and payroll
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise

Requirements

- 3+ years of detail oriented accounting and relevant accounting experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other relevant experience is required
- Self-starter with the ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Comprehensive knowledge of Blackbaud
- Account reconciliation experience
- Strong familiarity with month end closings
- Journal entries experience required
- Current and relevant ERP system experience
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why "
