As a Finance Director - North America you will be acting as a key member of the divisional management team, the Finance Director will have broad responsibilities in the financial management of a business division. This position will work closely with the senior executive team to ensure strong financial controls and will act as a key advisor to the senior management team.

Completes assigned activities under the direction of the VP accounting and working in close relationship with the Senior Vice-President of the division.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from college or university and a minimum of fifteen (15) years related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry related documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and converse in English at an advanced level.
  • Represent Ovivo to other company and business leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or experience of working with SyteLine accounting software.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the principal Finance owner of the preparation of budget and forecasts and sign-off with Product Lines Managers and division Senior Management Team.
  • Working with the local Controllers, constantly develop and approve appropriate financial and management reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations as well as other KPI's.
  • Provide insightful financial information with recommendation on the business to the senior management team of the division, including Operational KPI.
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate production of Periodic, Quarterly, & Year End Accounts for submission to the Corporate Head Office in Canada for consolidation under IFRS & Ovivo Accounting Policies. Prepare and present the division financial results in a way to verbalize for non-financial employees
  • Assist within the division on M&A activities.
  • In all transactions, ensure that risk is managed in line with corporate expectations and guidelines.
  • Where required, to assist in the implementation & continuous development of the Ovivo business management ERP system (SyteLine).
  • Develop and enforce company wide methods of Working Capital management. Promoting ways to improvement the Working Capital.
  • Review Balance Sheet with Local Financial Controller of both Municipal and Industrial Divisions.
  • External liaison with Auditors.
  • Manage the division finance function.
  • Lead the motivation, development and training of local finance controllers and coach them in their local leadership role.
  • Responsible for financial controllers' appraisals and for recommendations in respect of retaining or terminating the right fit of controllers.
  • Manage various systems and procedures for data acquisition, analysis and control.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Travel:
  • Required to travel frequently nationally and occasionally internationally.
