Job Description

The ISO unit of Verisk is looking for Insurance DataAnalysts tojoinourKraków office, supportingthePreferred Data Partnership (PDP) TeamwithintheStrategic Data Operationsdepartmentin the USA.This teamprovides support to USinsurancecompaniescontributing data to ISO, who need assistanceconverting and sendingtheir statisticaland regulatory data submissions to ISO and otherData Collection Organisations.

The successfulcandidate willcontribute towardsachievingthis goalbymapping andtransforming native datafrom our insurer customers(transactional data feeds sentmonthly or quarterly)into required ISOstatistical plan or regulatory reporting format,and assist withthe actual submission process and error handling. Youwillalsobe involved in designing and implementingsolutionstoincrease the automation ofdata handling processes.

As a minimum, candidatesshouldpossess technical andbusinessskills toperform and enhance ETL processes. Most important, though, is a sense of inquisitiveness about data, and the ability not just to find patterns in data, but to also understand what they meanand how they can betransferredfrom one datasource into the other one with no negative impact ofquality and completeness.

Responsibilities

  • Write business requirements for a data transformation reporting system and assist with ongoing maintenance.
  • Create, modify and execute computer programs to extract, transform and summarize data.
  • Review the quality of data provided by insurance companies, both in transactional detail and in aggregate.
  • Assist withdata profiling, mapping and lineage; data transformation and creation; and data and business inquiry resolutions.
  • Conduct UserAcceptanceTestingofnewly implemented solutions.
  • Understand and take ownership of our business processes, and recommend improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, process automation, or analytic techniques.
  • Support strategic initiativesforcloud computing, by helping to migrate code, data and processes, and reconciling results against existing procedures.
  • Develop knowledge of:the structure of insurance datasets; data management techniques;the USAP&C insurance business; andVerisk Analytics' business practices, products, and data sources.


Qualifications

MinimumQualifications

  • Graduate or Bachelor's degree with a major in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Risk Management, Operational Research or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access,PowerPoint) and understanding of computer programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with SQLand Alteryx (or equivalents).
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, listening and teamwork skills, and effective summarization skills.
  • Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Aptitude in performing multiple tasks and dealing with changing deadline requirements.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience indata creation/manipulation/ transformation / migrationusing tools such as SQL, Python, R,SAS, Alteryx(or similar).
  • Experience with large (>10,000 row) datasets or datasets of mixed quality, including structured orunstructured data.
  • Familiarity with Property-Casualtyinsurance coveragesanddata.
