An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and results-focused Senior Business Analyst to join Allianz Workers Compensation division, located at our Melbourne office.

Reporting to the Business Analysis Manager, the key objective for the Senior Business Analyst is eliciting requirements and defining functionality for Allianz's portfolio of programs and projects.

The Senior Business Analyst is the key point of contact for Business Analysis project activity, accountable for exceptional project execution and delivery of outcomes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will deliver the following role objectives and deliverables:
  • Work collaboratively to facilitate communication bringing both business and IT project stakeholders closer
  • Clarify and translate business requirements into documentation and solution designs using appropriate tools and models
  • Actively contribute on initiatives to improve processes and templates integral to the Business Analyst role
  • Demonstrate excellence in stakeholder management, engagement and negotiation

About the Ideal Applicant:

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes, skills and experience:
  • Experience in SQL Server Database development using SSIS and SSRS.
  • Knowledge of database design and data vault modelling
  • Analysing, defining and documenting business and functional requirements
  • Concise and comprehensive, written & verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Good problem analysis and resolution technique and risk management
  • Strong customer service focus

Desirable Criteria
  • Application development experience (using VB.net, Python, Django)
  • Knowledge of Agile application development methodology (using JIRA)
  • Understanding of Victorian Workers Compensation scheme and WorkSafe systems (including Webfocus)
  • Industry knowledge with regard to insurance products and processes
  • Under graduate degree in IT, Business or related discipline
