  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of financial accounts
  • Production of supporting documentation for the annual audits
  • Responsible for the maintenance of accurate ledgers and detailed reconciliations to support the worldwide balances and accounts of the firm
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual consolidated partnership accounts and LLP accounts
  • Preparation of annual accounts for the various other partnerships and companies within the group including the deconsolidated tax accounts
  • Liaison with auditors and ensuring that financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Preparation of detailed analyses from the financial accounts for tax computation purposes where necessary
  • Ensuring that audit entries / adjustments are accurately reflected in the accounting ledgers
  • Assistance in the preparation of quarterly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts for the UK LLP and UK registered overseas offices
  • Responsible for ad hoc tasks related to overseas operations eg UK payroll, UK VAT returns, arrangement of payments
  • Reconciliation of individual partners' current, capital and tax accounts and ensuring all recharges for insurances and loan capital interest are recorded accurately
  • Ensure that team processes and procedures manual is up-to-date
  • Preparation and execution of monthly drawings and quarterly distributions
  • Assist in the clean-up of ledger balances within accounting system
  • Prepare the budget cashflow and monthly cashflow analysis
  • Responsible for collating and analysing quarterly controls checklists from international offices
  • Responsible for arranging partner capital loans and the annual capital movements (additional borrowings/ repayments)
  • Preparation of financial models for new office proposals and new partner recruitment and providing quarterly lateral recruitment performance reports
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for new offices in conjunction with the management accounts team
  • To produce the WIP by matter partner report at year end for statutory accounts purposes
  • Provide cover and assistance to the Management Accounts team as required
  • To produce Consolidated Group balance sheet for management accounts pack every month
  • To work on ad hoc projects as required by the Group FC and Finance Director
  • Prepare the accounts and co-ordinate the audit for Dentons UK and Middle East Charitable Trust
Required experience, skills and attributes
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA
  • Excellent Excel skills (including charts and pivot tables)
  • Knowledge of Elite (essential)
  • Knowledge of ProClarity or Pyramid - business intelligence software (desirable)
  • Can clearly explain problems and issues to others and contribute to their resolution
  • Sound working knowledge of databases and Word
  • Experience of dealing with partners and senior management
  • Experience of working in a law firm or a professional services environment would be an advantage
