About the Role
As a member of Bupa's Group Internal Audit (GIA) function, the Internal Audit Analyst role is to support the function in providing independent and objective assurance to Bupa senior management and the Board Audit Committee on the effectiveness of Bupa's risk management and control environment. This is an important role in the GIA team and requires collaborative working with peers both in the UK and globally, operating as one team, building the internal audit function into a world class function.

What you'll be doing
- Support the development of the GIA function through the "Ways of Working" programme with a focus on Data Access & Analysis
- Support audit delivery through the deployment of data access and analysis techniques
- Support the Heads of Audit in building data access & analysis into the annual audit plan, and delivery of the audit plan.
- Build and maintain internal relationships with stakeholders including Business, IT and 2nd Line Risk functions.
- Undertake special project work as agreed by the Head of Audit, Audit Director or Chief Audit Officer.
- Provide an internal consultancy service that may be used by Bupa management, particularly in the areas of specialist knowledge such as Data Analysis.
- Have a clear ambition to broaden and deepen his or her analytical skills
- Advocate and educate others on the use of data analysis to support the delivery of audits and generating insights from data.
- Support the preparation of papers and reporting to internal stakeholders and committees as required.
- Work collaboratively in small teams supporting the use of data analysis on audit assignments to a high quality and within timescales;
- Communicate with audit stakeholders about audit requirements for data access on an ongoing and timely basis;
- Collaborate closely with the Heads of Audit with respect to the collection and analysis of data for both continuous auditing purposes and planning insights for reporting to key stakeholders (including the Bupa Audit Committee).
Who we're looking for?
- Experience applying data analysis and data visualisation techniques and tools in a range of scenarios. Application within an Internal Audit context advantageous.
- Advanced excel user with ability to handle; Vlookup, Index, Match, Sum, If, Sumifs, Countifs, in nested iterations as well as a comprehensive understanding, macros, measures and experience in writing VBA models
- Intermediate to advanced skills in query languages e.g. SQL
- Practical experience of coding in Python and R is advantageous, but not essential.
- Knowledge of current data analysis and data visualisation techniques.
- Experience working as part of an integrated team involving a range of stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data analysis concepts.
- An understanding of audit philosophy, methods and techniques is desirable.
- Strong communication, influencing skills and reporting writing skills.
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Ability to work in Spanish is an advantage, but not essential
