Job Description
The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD Bank's Canadian and US: non-trading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position.
The Wholesale Liquidity team within TBSM supports the liquidity management and transfer pricing functions for TD Securities. The team defines the liquidity treatment for various products within trading business and actively manages the liquidity buffer for the entire TDS entity. This team is also responsible in attributing and reporting the funding/liquidity cost for each TDS business. Team members support the design of new products and product pricing.

The successful candidate will:
  • Participate in monthly FTP process/production
  • Speak to FTP results and how liquidity concept/treatment impacts the liquidity charge.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve the quality, speed and accuracy of FTP results.
  • Assist in further developing a methodology to calibrate FTP with TDS funding constraints
  • Continue to refine processes to standardize attribution, analysis and presentation to management team of wholesale funding cost pool
  • Support ad hoc sensitivity analysis requests from management and/or other areas of the Bank.
  • Assist in preparation, updating of month over month FTP results and corresponding decks for various business lines

This placement will provide the successful candidate to:
  • Enhance your communication skills through written presentations of complex analysis and presenting your work to stakeholders
  • Gain deeper understanding for strategic decisions regarding Treasury and how these decisions are interrelated
  • Influencing partners and stakeholders and negotiating solutions that are in the best interest of the Bank
  • Potential to represent TBSM at key stakeholder meetings
  • Support enterprise strategy with confidential analysis for TDS businesses

Assigned Line of Business Requirements
  • High familiarity and strong skillset / experience with MS Office (particularly Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Ability to handle competing priorities from multiple sources within organization; task switching
  • Ability to translate data into narrative
  • High level of engagement and curiosity required (incl. how products work, factors contributing to results, data flow/ spreadsheet audit)
  • Strong interest in and familiarity with the features and characteristics of capital market products, Liquidity, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills important as the work will be completed as part of a small team
