Working as part of the Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager and as part of the UK Business Partnering team, the Assistant Management Accountant will support to the Finance Managers within the department. Based in smart offices in South West London (Home Based for the time being).

Description

As the Assistant Management Accountant you will work alongside the Finance Manager (Corporate functions) to ensure data integrity and help consolidate the teams financials. You will be providing cost centre support and help understand performance against budget and forecast.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Production of monthly management accounts for relevant areas within the business such as HR, Risk and Legal, including comprehensive understanding and analysis of cost drivers and variance analysis.
  • Monthly reviews with relevant budget holders to discuss performance against budget, effectively tracking risks and opportunities.
  • Assisting with forecasting inputs, producing consistent and accurate financial outputs driven by efficient models.
  • Consolidating department financials, ensuring consistent processes and approach, producing and co-ordinating timelines.
  • Be a conduit between Finance Business Partnering team and other finance functions such as FP&A, co-ordinating deadlines and addressing queries.
  • Support the Procurement team in the roll out of the Purchase to Pay framework and system.

Profile

  • Previous experience working in an Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Analyst role, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and teams.
  • Strong excel skills and good knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Previous experience using accounting systems such as Cognos would be desirable.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Likely to be studying towards your ACCA or CIMA qualification
