DESCRIPTION

Amazon seeks an experienced Finance Manager to support large scale health and safety initiatives. If you are passionate about innovating, building, and scaling high impact business models, this is for you. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to provide strategic guidance and support disruptive initiatives, as well as overall finance, controllership and operational support in this evolving space.

This individual will be a role model for high standards and driving business insight while partnering with cross-functional teams; driving best practices across the network and leading cost improvement efforts. This role operates in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment, and will provide decision support and advice for key business leaders.

Main Responsibilities:
• Partner with Director level unit leader and the leadership team providing support both in strategy and detailed analysis
• Establish business review processes, maintain operational and business metrics
• Run financial modeling, sensitivity analyses and recommendations for new protocols, initiatives and pilots
• Develop cost-out and continuous improvement mechanisms for variable costs and on-site inventory management
• Aggressively identify and help resolve defects in processes
• Assist in all aspects of the rollout and operation across hundreds of testing sites
• Forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis
• Generate month-end close support/control for on-site inventory, vendor payments, and performance tracking
• Integration into corporate reporting
• Participate in ad hoc analysis and new project evaluations including structuring the problem, developing a solution and presenting a proposed method of action to senior executives
• Exercise sound judgement and prioritization in ambiguous situations, respond with urgency to high priority external and internal requests

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative field
• Several years of relevant work experience in finance with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
• Advanced Excel skills, experience working with ERP and Financial systems such as Oracle and Cognos
• Experience in a business partnering role with a strong ability to work with teams to deliver results

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA degree
• Experience working in an ever-changing environment similar to a high-tech start-up.
• Demonstrated ability to drive timely and high quality results, manage multiple competing priorities and problem solve
• Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools (SQL, Cognos, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Advanced analytical skills. Established ability to dive deep on ambiguous challenges and deliver actionable insight
• Superior attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to influence/shape decisions through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives
• Previous experience within a Manufacturing, Healthcare, Distribution Center or Logistics processes and systems is a plus
• An eye towards continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes
