Financial Accountant PA 3

Strategic Focus
* To ensure the integrity on the JSEZA General Ledger and sub-ledgers, and that the accounting for JSEZA's business transactions is in conformance with GOJ Accounting Standards, IAS (International Accounting Standards) and IPAS (International Public Sector Accounting Standards) and meet the guidelines for quality in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual audited financial reports.
* To build a strong and capable Financial Accounting Team within JSEZA.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Best practice cross-functional event-driven processes for the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial and management accounting reports, by effectively integrate the activities of all the internal customers and suppliers of the accounting process so that accurate, timely and useful financial information is available to support effective decision making and corporate governance.
* Accounting for JSEZA's business transactions is in line with International Accounting and GOJ Standards for Public Sector Accounting. and that pro efficient, effective and economical utilisation of assets and other resources.
* Financial Reporting requirements of all external stakeholders (including the Auditor General, the Financial Secretary) are met in conformance with agreed service standards.
* The integrity of the account balances in JSEZA's General Ledger, with every balance sheet account balance able to be substantiated, at all times, by supporting details
Qualifications & Experience
* A postgraduate degree in Accounting or a related field or;
* An undergraduate degree, plus an internationally recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA. ACMA, ACCA, CGA).
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in the accounting field with experience in at a Manager level. Previous experience working in an internationally recognized audit firm would be an asset.
