My client, a leading global energy provider, are looking for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join their Merseyside office.
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will take responsibility for all internal and external statutory reporting requirements The Financial Accountant will also provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to the business, in order to meet strategic and operational goals.

Key responsibilities include:
Produce group annual and interim consolidated accounts.
Management of all aspects of group statutory accounting (in accordance with IFRS) including the group consolidation for all subsidiaries.
Co-ordinate information, requests and timescales with the external and internal auditors.
Respond to, analyse and resolve queries on the financial information.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub-ledger accounts.
Manage the month end close, driving continuous improvement.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
Investigate significant balances/variances/transactions so that an accurate explanation can be provided.
Provide input to the cash flow forecasting process and periodic financial reforecasts.
