About this opportunity
As an Insolvency Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with management, you will lead a diverse range of investigations, insolvency and forensic assignments
- You will use the commercial aspects of your financial analysis skills while performing reviews, short-term cash flow and capital structure analysis
- The role includes liaising with third party professionals such as lawyers, fund managers, directors, regulatory bodies and registered agents
- You will prepare statutory documents, ensuring you complete all statutory filing requirements on time, and assist in the realisation of assets
- Adjudicate creditor and investor claims, draft reports; as well as calculate and pay distributions to creditors and shareholders
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounts
- You'll enjoy a high degree of autonomy in case management and benefit from continuing career development. Working to tight deadlines, you may also have the chance to travel regionally
- There may also be the opportunity for a Manager role mentoring staff
What you'll need
- A professional accounting or legal qualification from an internationally recognised institution
- 3-5 years' meaningful Insolvency/Recovery experience in a similar role
- JIEB qualification an advantage but not essential
- Experience in Re/Insurance and Hedge Funds - as well as in the Regulatory, Forensic or Corporate Recovery fields - is useful but not a requirement as you will receive hands-on training
- Show an appropriate level of integrity, initiative and organisation, and be able to operate in a demanding environment with good client focus
- Employers value exceptional letter writing, analytical skills, computer literacy and interpersonal skills
