about our client
A leading FMCG MNC company, based in Nilai, with big expansion plans in the region, is seeking an immediately available Financial Accountant to prepare the financial statements accurately and in a timely manner. In addition, the role is required to perform analysis of financial and business data to deliver insights and actionable plans to achieve business objectives.
This role reports directly to the Finance Director and is an individual contributor role.
about the role
  • Prepare and/or review the financial statements which include but not limited to balance sheet, income statements and cash flow comprising actuals, budget and forecasts.
  • Ensure financial statements and any related reports are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review any tax forms and/or documents for submission to tax authorities, work with tax agents to resolve any issues and ensure compliance with all tax deadlines.
  • Prepare and/or review relevant reports and comply with all reporting requirements to corporate office and regulatory requirements and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of budgets and forecasts with various business functions in the Company.
  • Analyse financial and business data to deliver insights and actionable plans in the areas as identified by senior management and/or business needs to deliver and achieve the business objectives.
  • Ensure fixed assets are properly accounted for and accounting treatment is appropriate for each category of fixed assets.
  • Check all borrowing covenants, warranties etc are complied with and any event of default is remedy and escalated to senior management immediately.
  • Prepare and/or review the audited financial statements and ensure completed within agreed deadline for submission to SSM.
  • Enforce Company policies and procedures, where relevant or identified in any business transactions.
  • Document and review at a minimum annually, policies and procedures including guidelines, forms, templates and any other documentation with a view of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform any ad-hoc and/or projects assigned by the Company.
  • Liaise with external parties; i.e. auditors, tax agents, lawyers, company secretary, bankers.
your profile
  • Degree in Accounting or accounting professional qualification; e.g. ACCA, MICPA etc or equivalent.
  • Member of MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accountants) or other professional bodies; e.g. ACCA, MICPA etc.
  • Minimum five (5) years working in similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax rules and regulations.
  • Good understanding of bank financial products; e.g. loans, trade facilities etc.
  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems preferably Microsoft AX 365 or SAP/JDE.
  • Preferably with consumer goods experience or from similar industry.
