The Position:

Working in a flexible team located in Brisbane, we are currently seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Office. This is a Permanent, full time opportunity, reporting to the Corporate Controller.
The Primary purpose of this role is to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Financial information back to the Corporate Office whilst working with the wider team, partnering with various local and interstate key stakeholders.

Working closely with management, in this role you will be responsible for key corporate financial accounting and tax compliance processes, including:
  • Australia and New Zealand financial accounting and reporting, including statutory financial statements preparation
  • Timely month end close and reporting and corporate journals
  • Prepare monthly General Ledger reconciliations & work papers for review in accordance with our Corporate timetable and Compliance requirements
  • Accounting analysis and reporting to facilitate accounting processes, compliance and reconciliation
  • Australia and New Zealand tax compliance activities
  • Assist with co-ordinating annual external audit
  • Facilitate transfer pricing and internal charging processes
  • You will also have a key role in supporting and advising in relation to:
  • Supervision & operation of our customer ledger and AR system
  • Coordination of financial compliance activities & financial policies
  • Accounting & business integrations of new acquisitions


Qualifications:

The person:

To be successful in this role you will have experience in a similar role:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and certification as CA or CPA with 3 years' experience.
  • Significant experience in a financial accounting function within a large Corporate or major accounting firm
  • Technical and proficiency in Systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools specifically Excel skills - confident with Pivot tables, data analysis and reporting using large data sets and full GL Extracts
  • ERP & BI system experience (JDE, Dynamics AX)
  • Awareness of Accounting standards and multi entity consolidation requirements
  • Good knowledge of Tax Effect Accounting, corporate income tax, FBT & GST compliance obligations
  • Time management and deadline/outcome focused
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interpret and analyse complex data, connect and influence key stakeholders fostering team commitment
