2021 Investment Banking Summer Associate – Chicago Midwest Advisory

Our Financial Advisory business deals with relevant problems that matter in an increasingly complicated world. As a member of our team, you will work alongside the industry’s most iconic and accomplished practitioners and have a front-row seat to some of the most complex, transformational and marquee deals in the marketplace. Your input will affect the outcome.
You will begin your internship by participating in a week-long comprehensive training program in New York. Following training, you will become an integral member of the Midwest Advisory group, joining a small team which provides financial advisory services with a focus on relationship management to the firm's clients.
The focus of the Midwest Advisory is business development, relationship management and strategic client development with execution primarily handled by Lazard’s external industry groups. Assignments are focused on enhancing relationships with clients by providing financial advice on a range of categories including M&A, divestitures, general and strategic advisory, restructuring and capital markets.
During the Summer Associate program, our goal is for you to enjoy a uniquely tailored experience which includes accountability to a specific group as well as opportunities for building relationships and skills across other groups at the Firm. You will receive formal mentorship, exposure to our Leadership Team, and are invited to participate in various social and networking events with bankers across the Firm.
Qualifications:
The Midwest Advisory practice works closely with Lazard's global network and industry expertise to focus on a range of industries and clients in the Midwestern region. This opportunity is located in Chicago and a n interest in working in Chicago is necessary.

Qualifications:
- Preferably 2-3 years of prior work experience
- Currently matriculated at a MBA, JD or other graduate program and within two years of graduation
- Top academic performer who is comfortable in an unstructured environment which values initiative, creativity, maturity, and poise
- Strong quantitative background
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
