Senior Accountant
Key deliverables for the successful candidate:
* Maintain General Ledger (GL) accounts including Balance Sheet reconciliation and other analyses
* Assist in supervising staff
* Review bank and prepare broker reconciliation
* Assist with preparation of presentations for monthly management accounts, and the annual audit and budget exercise
* Prepare/ review tax reports (income tax, statutory, GCT, etc) and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all tax returns
* Prepare intercompany reconciliation
* Assist with the review and preparation of internal control processes and make recommendations for improvement
Key competencies for the role:
* First degree in Accounting and at least ACCA level II, Finance or related discipline
* At least five (5) years' experience in Accounting or Auditing
* Strong knowledge of current IFRS, Jamaican laws and standards
* Excellent communication, time management and relationship management skills
* Detail oriented and the ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines
* Ability to work with all levels of employees and departments
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Accounting software packages AccPac/Sage 50 accounting is an asset
* Team player with strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
* Track record for adherence to procedures, analytical, and keen attention to detail
* Pursuing professional accreditation in Finance/Accounting e.g. ACCA, CPA, is an asset
