Summary/Objective:
The Accounting Manager of the Saudi Joint Venture (SJV) will lead various aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, including preparing schedules to support US GAAP reporting requirements to one of its stakeholders, support the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of effective internal controls within the organization, ensure SJV VAT compliance, as well as support the local and US GAAP tax accounting and reporting.
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and has a high level of visibility and exposure to cross-functional leaders.
Summary/Objective:
The Accounting Manager of the Saudi Joint Venture (SJV) will lead various aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, including preparing schedules to support US GAAP reporting requirements to one of its stakeholders, support the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of effective internal controls within the organization, ensure SJV VAT compliance, as well as support the local and US GAAP tax accounting and reporting.
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and has a high level of visibility and exposure to cross-functional leaders.
- Own the execution and sign-off of the monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes for IFRS and US GAAP reporting. This includes ownership of all technical accounting areas, financial reporting control execution and sign-off, month/quarter-end accruals, balance sheet account review, system reconciliations (i.e., intercompany process), analytics, , and internal/external financial reporting.
- Support the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of internal controls within the organization working with cross-functional teams and external consultants.
- Provide guidance and support in any accounting matters and other ad hoc requests, primarily technical accounting. Be the 'center of expertise' for US GAAP, performing research, aligning with accounting policy owners on conclusions/recommendations, updating policies and analyzing emerging US GAAP pronouncements as needed.
- Provide on-going support to internal and external audit activities including preparation and review of audit requirements.
- Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement to drive effectiveness and efficiency with a focus on increasing automation.
- Work closely and develop good working relationships with partners and stakeholders in the Finance org, as well as other cross functional areas (i.e., PSO, Customer Service, Credit, etc.).
- Handle all VAT related matters and ensure SJV VAT compliance in coordination with SJV VAT consultants
- Support the local and US GAAP tax accounting and reporting in coordination with SJV tax consultants
- Support special project work, as required.
