The Business
Robert Walters are currently sourcing a Management Accountant for an established quasi-public sector organisation based in central Manchester. The client that we're representing are in a period of change and have recognised the need to improve their internal forecasting and budgeting processes. The business is currently in the midst of delivering a number of key projects so it is an exciting time for any individual to join the organisation. With an established team and a fantastic FC in place it's essential that the incoming individual is ambitious and has a desire to deliver value add across the organisation.
The Role
With an established team in place the Management Accountant plays an integral part in the sourcing and delivery of commercial information to the senior management team. Once in role the candidate will report directly into the financial controller and will partner with a range of stakeholders across the group.
Further aspects of the role include:
Lead on the delivery of the group monthly, quarterly, half & year end management accounts
Take full ownership of forecasting & budgeting processes across the group
Deliver and interpret variance analysis for the group and present findings to executive team
Deliver and improve working processes and controls with a specific emphasis on forecasted v actual revenue
Manage, analyse and manipulate large volumes financial data in excel and deliver commercial MI to the executive team
Deliver and improve existing financial models within excel
Business partner with key budget holders to understand their requirements and present financial recommendations to them
Take ownership of the existing cost bases and deliver a strategy to keep costs low
Take a lead on various group process improvement projects
The Candidate
Candidates wishing to apply for this role will be a CCAB qualified accountant with experience of working in a sizeable finance team. The candidate will have a proven track record in providing value add across the forecasting and budgeting process and liaising with a both finance and non finance stakeholders. From a skills perspective the candidate must have strong excel skills as they will be manipulating large volumes of data and providing improvements across a number of financial models. Further to this they need to be a strong communicator as they will be delivering complex financial analysis and commentary to the executive team
