About the Job:

As the Director of Accounting / Controller, you will lead the global accounting function and be part of a finance team responsible for helping to bring speciality coffee and delicious food to our markets. You will build upon the momentum of our recent acquisitions and investor funding. We are looking for someone passionate and excited about making a direct impact in a growing company. This position will be based in Oakland, CA and will report to our CFO.

You will
    • Lead and develop the accounting team and have oversight over the accounting function for both US and international operations
    • Be accountable for the monthly financial close process by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial results
    • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
    • Develop, implement and standardize accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes while working as a team
    • Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments
    • Manage the annual financial close and our financial audit
    • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
    • Partner with department leaders to help improve financial results
    • Improve efficiency through implementation of systems and improved processes

You have
    • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience (any mix of public accounting and/or industry)
    • Minimum of 2 years experience as a controller or similar position
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or a related field
    • Experience with Netsuite, a plus
    • CPA, a plus
