Position description
The Director - FAS (Financial Planning & Analysis) is a senior member of the Mayo Clinic finance team and provides leadership over site financial and strategy planning, financial and strategic analysis and reporting. The director and her/his teams directly support the site CFO and leadership. The director is responsible for the integrity of site financial and statistical data. She/he is responsible for driving continuous improvement in Mayo's site financial planning processes and systems. Provides direction for complex report and analytical content including: reporting of volumes, labor productivity and cost efficiency, revenue, payer mix, cost accounting and related service line analytics, projects business cases and valuations, capital reporting and other analytical tools to support accuracy of reported financials and identifying financial value enhancement opportunities. The director will be responsible for managing the site financial planning and analysis team, which will transform into being a center of excellence for analytical and financial support to site and departmental leadership, including the continuous growth, development and engagement of staff, and with an eye on continuous improvement in key Mayo financial processes. Actively communicates and presents information to various audiences including site leadership. Provides direction and interprets management financial information with significant site impact. Initiates, leads and facilitates site and/or multi-site workgroups or complex projects. Handles ambiguous situations in a productive and professional manner. Possesses ability to apply broad knowledge to new circumstances to add value and perspective. Responsible for establishing a customer-focused environment, anticipating and prioritizing customer needs. Stays abreast of emerging issues and risks and plans accordingly.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with twelve years of applicable accounting or finance experience is required. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

Seven years of management or leadership experience is required. Masters degree in business related field or, a CPA, is preferred.

Additional qualifications
Has an expert understanding of accounting and finance principles and practices and the ability to lead others in application. Possesses and applies knowledge of institutional, clinical, financial and administrative systems and processes to achieve organizational priorities. Has solid knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Possess ability to apply broad knowledge to new circumstances to add value and perspective. Exhibits a customer-service orientation; anticipates, understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner. Working knowledge of large accounting and/or grant management systems. Ability to establish a productive team-based work environment and collaborate effectively across multiple sites and functions. Demonstrable communication and presentation skills. Ability to lead or direct multiple complex projects and activities in an ambiguous environment. Participates in establishing an environment that promotes initiative, creativity and a high level of productivity.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4592.80, based on a full-time position.
