The Role Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to provide Business Analysis and delivery management support to the Financial Markets Operations group, focusing on post trade systems re-platforming. The joiner will join a high performing team delivering strategic systems change to the FM business. The system is built entirely in-house using bleeding-edge architecture and technologies such as micro-services and Kafka. The role involves working closely with senior business stakeholders, developers and the dev Ops team. The initial assignments will involve Equity Derivative re-platforming with a focus on cash settlement, nostro and suspense reconciliations and may involve analysis for regulatory programmes such as IBOR transition and European benchmark reform.

Strategy
  • Business requirement gathering, process re-engineering and design, systems impact analysis
  • Define and document business functions and processes, functional requirements / user stories for FM systems re-platforming and
  • Track and fully document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed universally understood processes/steps/requirements/user stories/epics for use in training
  • Serve as a conduit between the customer community (Key Stakeholders and end-users) and the software development team through which requirements flow; Ensure developers understand the context of the changes;
  • Drive and challenge the business on the implementation of FMO processes
  • Highlight risks, suggest mitigation, and to manage and actively monitor them to reduce the likelihood of occurrence
  • Promote proactive communication and collaboration across all the teams.
  • Perform Data Gap Analysis, map the data requirements to the target state for FM Re-platforming
  • Planning and coordinating profiling of data at source to ascertain data quality and consistency
  • Proposing data quality validation rules and data quality maintenance where appropriate
  • Planning and performing acceptance testing activities to ascertain standards and recommendations are being followed
  • Support functional design, testing and deployment of change initiatives
  • Define the user demonstrations, training materials, and conduct formal system and user training sessions; facilitate train-the-trainer approach. Assist in training/mentoring other staff on the project

  • Ability to identify potential operational risk and propose technology-based solutions to mitigate as part of the system design.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Experience as IT Business Analyst or back office function change/SME
  • Proven experience in writing documentation for projects. Determine the level of formality required and consider options for documenting and packaging requirements based on project type, priorities, and risks
  • Must have worked in global enterprise scale applications development and implementations
  • Ability to plan an approach for analysing, categorizing, and managing requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively technical information to non-technical audience, and business information to technical audience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint and Excel) and JIRA/Confluence
  • Good presentation skills and highly effective verbal and written English communication skills;
  • Good working knowledge of international banking; experience in Wholesale Banking, especially in Equity Derivative, FX Option, Rates Derivatives, applicable product knowledge is highly preferable
  • Good working knowledge of back office processes including Settlements and cash reconciliation highly preferable
