We now need a Trainee Investment Accountant to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the finance function, so it can be a trusted and commercial partner that influences the business to make good financial decisions, by delivering excellent support, expertise and high quality management information
Job summary
To assist in the successful delivery of investment financial accounting to our UK Client within the European Investment Financial Services department in Potters Bar.
What you'll do
To report on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis the movements in the investment financials, in a timely and accurate manner. To carry out and complete all appropriate accounting processes and controls within the Investment Financial Services Controls Framework. This will require additional, late working hours during the first week of the month end process and weekends and possibly bank holidays at quarter end.
To monitor and reconcile all valuation and unit pricing movements processed by the valuations and pricing team to ensure correct and complete information is reflected in the reported financials
To provide auditable working papers for all investment financials, including a detailed analytical review (P&L and Balance Sheet) for each reporting period.
Continually review the department/'s processes and suggest improvements to management to ensure the provision of timely, accurate and achievement of efficient levels of service. Keep up to date with all Financial Accounting legislative changes and ensure compliance with all ICOFR process narratives and key controls
Who you are
•Part qualified accountant with investment accounting experience.
•Good system skills including Microsoft excel.
•Ability to work effectively in a team with excellent interpersonal skills
•Ability to communicate well at all levels both written & orally
•Enthusiastic and confident approach to new challenges.
•Ability to use own initiative
Flexible approach to working hours - ability to work late and at weekends at month and quarter end periods.
Qualifications
Part qualified within ACCA or CIMA or Accounting degree
