VAGO play a critical role in holding the public sector to account by reviewing how effectively agencies deliver services and use public funds. We positively affect the lives of Victorians by examining government entities' effectiveness, reporting on inefficiencies, and recommending how to improve future performance.

What you'll do

With multiple permanent and fixed term roles available, this is your opportunity to join a team of talented and highly motivated professionals with a diverse range of skills and experience across IT Audit, SQL development, programming, and dashboard visualisations.

You will play a leading role in:

• Helping to plan and execute the IT aspects of our audits of financial reports
• Enhancing audit teams better understanding of the IT environment
• Improving audit teams' reliance on system controls

• Providing subject matter expertise around IT general and application controls and inherent risks to specific systems
• Provide advice on trends and topical issues impacting the assurance industry

Who you are

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Three or more years' experience working full time in the IT audit (external and/or internal) or IT consulting field
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related fields
• CISA or similar relevant professional certification

While not essential, the following would be a bonus:

• Additional tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, or Commerce
• Familiarity with ERPs such as SAP, Oracle E-Business, People Soft and other systems used throughout the Victorian Public Sector

• Experience with audits of financial reports
• Current membership (or working to obtain) membership CAANZ or CPA Australia
