The Division
The Customer Strategy & Technology division is focused on creating the future of mobility in NSW, and shaping a world-leading transport system for our customers and communities.
The opportunity
In this newly created role, the successful candidate lead the development and improvement of governance and assurance processes in Freight Branch, as well as coordinating Freight Branch participation in those processes across Transport and the wider public sector.
The successful candidate will work to ensure improved freight outcomes for the benefit of customers and communities are appropriately represented in governance forums to inform planning, asset and services investment decisions, the effective development and delivery of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, customer and regulatory services, assets and services management plans and Transport policy.
What you will be involved in
You will develop and implement branch governance, including establishing a Freight Branch Steering Committee to ensure routine and formal contribution from across Transport and government into the outcomes, priorities and deliverables of the branch. You will also will also coordinate project and financial delivery planning and reporting for Freight Branch delivered programs as well as;
About you
You are senior leader with experience building and leading large teams. You will have a solid background in governance and assurance with previous experience in a similar role within a large complex organisation.
You will be a collaborator by nature, have exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally.

What you will be involved in

- Establish Freight Branch governance and assurance framework(s) aligned with organisation-wide frameworks and processes to ensure improved freight outcomes for the benefit of customers and communities
- Ensure customers and communities are appropriately represented in governance forums to inform planning, asset and services investment decisions, the effective development and delivery of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, customer and regulatory services, assets and services management plans and Transport policy.
- Develop and coordinate a Freight Branch Steering Committee with representation from across Transport and government to inform branch and Transport priorities and strategy to deliver improved freight outcomes and monitor performance against those outcomes.
- Oversee branch program performance reporting to provide reliable routine reporting on branch program performance, including setting performance indicators and measures for financial, milestone, delivery performance as well as customer outcomes.
- Lead the development and review of internal branch plans, including people and culture plan, business plan and delivery plan.
- Drive effective freight contribution to the divisional Services and Asset Management Plans
About you
