Your new role

Overview:
  • Prepare, reconcile and analyse P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Investigation of p&l related queries and market data analysis across a range of vanilla asset classes.
  • Support with other daily and monthly tasks including Accounts Payable and provide cover for various roles within the Finance department.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for daily preparation, review and analysis of the profit and loss reports
  • To take control of month-end processes, ensuring that monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet control and bank accounts is carried out in compliance with internal control policy,
  • Conduct independent pricing reviews, and report/resolve issues identified
  • Maintaining accounting records including processing month end journals
  • Additional month-end and year-end reconciliation and analysis of p&l, balance sheet and notes to the account.
  • Contributing to the setting up of strong controls and procedures in relation to the business
  • Understanding of the products traded including booking, valuation and accounting treatment
  • Involvement in accounts preparation, reconciliation and presentation
  • Involvement in the testing of new systems and system updates
  • Other ad hoc Finance team-related work and providing cover for absence on the team where necessary.
  • Daily Nostro reconciliations and analysis


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant, although applications are welcomed from part-qualified and QBE candidates with relevant experience. My client is seeking a financial accountant with experience reporting under IFRS and UK GAAP in a banking environment. As you will join a small finance team you will be expected to cover a broad range of responsibilities. Therefore this role may appeal to candidates who have worked in similar sized Finance teams or those who enjoy a broader remit. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organisation skills and be an adept MS Office user including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
