The Interim Head of Finance is accountable for:

  • Financial business partnering
  • Financial reporting (management & statutory)
  • Financial planning (forecasting, budgeting and strategic)
  • Financial processes (AP, AR)
  • Financial control and governance


Key Results Areas:

  • Timely, accurate and consistent financial reporting
  • Continual advancement of financial controls and process.
  • Accountable for statutory accounting processes, reporting and audit
  • Accurate and on time delivery of Financial Forecasts, annual budgets and strategy financial plans


Key Duties:

  • Overall accountability for quarterly financial re-forecasting, annual budgeting and strategic financial planning.
  • Accountable for the financial controls and governance, ensuring that the balance sheet is managed, reconciled and understood on a monthly basis and all financial returns are completed on a timely basis.
  • Accountable for annual financial audits and the provision of annual statutory accounts
  • Ensure that the finance team remains fit for purpose; the appropriate structure, personnel, qualifications, experience, development and training are in place to meet the requirements of the business
  • Lead by example in encouraging appropriate behavioural standards


Knowledge, Experience, Training Required:

Essential -
  • Degree in Accountancy or similar relevant qualification.
  • Holder of a recognised Accountancy qualification
  • Strongly determined and shows tenacity when facing challenging situations and feedback.
  • Self-starter, capable of operating at a level well beyond day to day direction.
  • Strong control and process orientation, logical thinker and analytical ability.
  • Strong knowledge of business ERP system(s).
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills to collaborate effectively, build team consensus and influence others. Ability to manage teams objectively and to ensure core objectives are met, resolving conflicts where necessary in a constructive manner whilst maintaining team motivation.
