The Accounting Area in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking applications for a full-time, open rank, non-tenure track General Faculty position beginning August 2020. This position would be responsible for teaching McIntire's Introduction to Financial Accounting and Introduction to Managerial Accounting courses. These courses have historically been taught in a face-to-face format but in the last three years have transitioned to be delivered entirely online - ideally, we are looking for a candidate with the versatility to teach using either format.

The strongest candidates will have a Ph.D. and 1) an established record of strong teaching, 2) the potential to make significant internal service contributions, and 3) a demonstrated ability for course and curriculum design. The school may consider applicants with an MBA or other terminal degree, who also have significant full-time experience teaching, leading university level academic programs, or managing large sections.

Currently, the McIntire School of Commerce (www.commerce.virginia.edu) awards a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, and Master of Science degrees in Accounting, Business Analytics, Commerce, Global Commerce, and the Management of Information Technology. McIntire is recognized for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate business education and scholarship. In various annual rankings of undergraduate and graduate business programs, including U.S. News, Bloomberg Businessweek, Poets & Quants, and The Economist, the McIntire School of Commerce is routinely ranked in the top ten.

Rank is dependent on qualifications and years of experience.
