The role

You will be the key support to the Group CFO and Senior management in the region, holding primary responsibilities for day to day financial management of our businesses in Asia, with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan, India and Australia.

Reporting into the Group CFO based in London, you will partner with our management team in the region to identity commercial opportunities and operational improvements, ensuring that they are fully understood as decisions are taken, and then successfully integrated into the day to day business.

You are expected to improve and strengthen our oversight and control of our core financials as the business develops both its customer offering and regional reach. There is also a focus on building our capabilities for our growing travel business and our new digital platform.

In addition, you will need to ensure strong financial control for costs and revenues managed within Asia, and be a Business Partner to both the Asia service delivery team and our sales and commercial staff based in the region.

Requirements

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with Group Finance to support the business and ensure Asia Finance as a whole is working smoothly
  • Partnering with Management and Operations leads and provide necessary information regarding resource overheads, costs savings, revenue pipeline etc to support decision making
  • Partnering with the Account Management team to ensure local corporate invoicing is correct, managed on a timely basis and aligns with both contractual terms and operational reporting
  • Managing revenue recognition to ensure revenue accruals and deferrals are in line with Group policy
  • Analysing profitability of corporate accounts and prepare inter-company cross charges to the UK
  • Day to day cost control on overheads cost management which includes managing the sign off and settlement expense claims to ensure compliance with policy and approval of all payments
  • Planning and forecasting for the APAC region including financial analysis to senior management in order to understand the cost impact of decision making
  • Auditing and compliance support for all local financial audits and supporting on global audits where needed
  • Supervisory responsibilities on external suppliers who provide booking keeping and payroll services
  • Working closely with HR department and payroll vendors and ensure payroll timelines are met
  • Produce relevant information for local and group audits as required and ensure audit deadlines are met
  • Central point of contact in Asia for local company secretaries, external auditors and tax agents
  • Ensure compliance with all local legislation in Asia

We are looking for:
  • Minimum 5 years Finance experience;
  • Professionally qualified accountant with CPA/ACCA and knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Hands-on experience in managing the full suite of Accounting & Reporting functions including month end closing, tax and compliance matters as well as working capital management
  • Confident finance business partner to support operation leaders in areas of resource planning to ensure sustained profitability
  • Strong eye for process improvements to drive efficiency and automation
  • Experienced with accounting tools and programs
  • Understanding of reconciliations, forecasting and financial planning
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels and encouraging a highly collaborative environment
  • Must have a start-up experience mentality and create processes where needed
  • Strong customer service acumen and results oriented
  • Ability to work with tight deadline and manage multiple tasks
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Business fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin as well as English
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
