An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Treasury Analyst on an ongoing basis in Financial Assets and Liabilities, within the Department of Treasury and Finance.
The main responsibilities include:
• Co-ordinate and prepare detailed rolling 12-month cashflow forecasts for the Whole of Victorian Government, including variance analysis
• Prepare existing and develop new management reports to monitor the cash and financial asset holdings of agencies.
• Apply corporate treasury expertise and knowledge when working with departments, agencies and the State's banking partners to further develop the State's Central Banking System.
• Identify Whole of Victorian Government Financial risk exposures and contribute to the development of risk management policy.
• Prepare briefs and other documents and provide input into the development of policy initiatives managed by the Balance Sheet Management team.
• Maintain and build complex financial models.
• Actively participate as a member of the Balance Sheet Management team to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the FAL group and departmental objectives.
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Excellent quantitative and financial modelling skills and the ability to analyse and report on complex financial exposures for debt portfolios.
• Experience working in a large corporate treasury and specifically undertaking cashflow forecast modelling and developing risk mitigation policy.
• Knowledge of treasury operations and associated risk management principles and policy frameworks or the ability to quickly acquire that knowledge.
• Previous experience working on large and complex projects and proven ability to influence stakeholders.
• Demonstrated initiative and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work with minimal guidance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• An appropriate tertiary qualification in economics, applied finance or a related field.
