Kangaroo Island Council are seeking applications for the position of Finance Manager. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead and support a team of 4 finance staff in the areas of Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, Rates, and general accounting
- Support the Executive Leadership Team through detailed financial analysis and reporting
- Timely preparation of financial statements, operational budgets and long-term financial plans aligned to Council's financial strategy
- Management of statutory reporting, financial governance and audit compliance
- Assist the Council through ongoing financial reviews, continuous improvement and shared best practice
- Current CA/CPA membership
- A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- Previous experience supervising accounts staff
- Proven ERP skills coupled with Advanced Excel
- Proven financial analysis, modelling and reporting skills
- Excellent communications, both written and verbal, with the ability to confidently discuss and present financial reports to Council and the Elected Members
