Bensons for Beds is the largest Bed Retailer in the UK with 200+sites within shopping centres and retail parks. We are a self-sufficient brand, over 70% of our products are made in our UK based manufacturing sites. Across Logistics, Retail and Manufacturing we have over 4000+ employees.
We are undergoing a great deal of change in our Brand, for the better and we are looking Group Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. You will play a key role in the development of financial capabilities and standards throughout the business. This role will have exposure to senior management and external PE investors, you will help shape our business to deliver our ambitious 3 year plan.
Key Responsibilities
Management and development of the Group finance function and working alongside Retail and Manufacturing divisional finance teams.
On a Regular basis you will be in contract with key stakeholders in the business: Group Board, Divisional Management, Divisional Finance Teams, External PE management team.

Key Responsibilities
Management and development of the Group finance function and working alongside Retail and Manufacturing divisional finance teams.
On a Regular basis you will be in contract with key stakeholders in the business: Group Board, Divisional Management, Divisional Finance Teams, External PE management team.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of all month end consolidated Group Board, investor and management reports
- Preparation of HoldCo stat accounts.
- Establishing processes for collation of information for and statutory year end reporting including financial commentary.
- Managing and monitoring banking arrangements.
- Management of the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Preparation and monitoring of the Group's consolidated cashflow position and analysis of variance to forecast.
- Maintaining a 3 year rolling integrated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow forecast consolidation model, including monthly actual vs budget variance analysis.
- Providing strong technical advice - utilising your existing expertise to support our Group and divisional finance teams
- Drive continuous improvement of processes within the finance functions to improve efficiency.
- Preparing consolidation journals, eliminations, group intercompany reconciliations, foreign exchange impacts
- Coordinate submission of monthly divisional reporting to Group.
- Working closely with the FP&A/Commercial team, including forecasting and managing balance sheet, cash flows, and P&L below EBITDA.
- Building value-adding relationships with senior operational management across the business to drive improved financial performance.
- Lead ad hoc projects and activities as requested
What we are looking for:
Qualifications /Experience
- ACA qualified with Top tier firm, five years+ PQE
- Technically strong, familiar with latest accounting standards (IFRS 15, 16)
- Consolidation of group accounts and cashflows, managing group cash position
- Statutory reporting for group & divisions
- External stakeholder reporting, production of Board packs and commentary, use of BI for Board dashboard
- Variety of industry experience in retail or manufacturing
- Good understanding of business analysis methods and their application
- Experience of finance systems specification and implementation, e.g. CODA, D-365, Propman
Other Considerations
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible to work throughout the UK
