The opportunity.

We have an opportunity for a talented Assistant Group Accountant to join our high performing Group finance function here at Frasers Group Shirebrook Head Office. Our Group team provide reporting, analysis and insight on Group financial activities across the multiple brands that make up Frasers Group. As a PLC with a £4bl turn over, the opportunity to grow your career in a fast paced and dynamic environment is one for the bold.

The responsibility.

Statutory financial statements (UK GAAP - FRS102):

● Preparation and review of statutory accounts including coordinating with Group Accountants, Management Accountants and External Auditors

● Use of CCH software to prepare the Group's subsidiary statutory financial statements

● Assist with keeping the Group's company database of approx. 500 companies up to date

● Oversee submission process to Companies House

Group financial statements (IFRS):

● Analysis of key areas of the Group accounts for correct accounting treatment, including assisting Group Accountants with:

○ IFRS 9 fair value of hedge accounting and equity investments

○ IFRS 16 Lease accounting (including discount rates and impairment review)

○ Impairment reviews of subsidiary investments/receivable balances, Goodwill & Intangibles

○ IFRS 3 and acquisition accounting

○ IAS 28 Investments in Associates and Joint Ventures

● Assist with the integration of new consolidation software

● Assist with the completion of the Group Consolidation file

● Own the data gathering for key parts of the Annual Report such as:

○ Related Party transactions

○ Remuneration (including staff numbers)

○ Environmental disclosures

○ Investment property workings

○ Parental guarantees

Corporation Tax

● Work with the Tax Manager and external tax advisors to assist with preparation of Corporation Tax returns

● Use of CCH software to assist with iXBRL tagging

The person.

● Valid working rights for the EMEA countries

● Part qualified ACCA or ACA

● Good knowledge of FRS102 and IFRS

● Strong organisational skills

● Be highly motivated and able to meet deadlines

● Ability to work independently but also enjoy working in a fast-paced, team environment
