We are looking for an objective, experienced Internal Audit Director for our client, a UK based consultancy firm.
The Director will manage their client facing operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes for each client. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a sound judgement. The Director is responsible for the execution of client engagements and maintaining strong relationships with senior client personnel. The Director must have a solid understanding of their client's business and be able to demonstrate technical competence in their product group and industry.
Key responsibilities
Prior management and direct supervisory experience in a team environment is essential, together with excellent project management and business development skills.
Candidate's must have the ability to travel as necessary to meet client needs, however this will be limited. The role will primarily involve working remotely.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee and conduct Quality Analysis on all clients' audit reports.
- Oversee, manage and support the entire team responsible for the audit reports.
- Responsible for client facing relationship management including compliance analysis.
- Ultimately responsible to make sure each client complies with internal regulations and established control.

Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certification required CIA or CPA or ACCA (at least one).
- Experience in the Public Sector (ideally Education) a plus.
- Solid knowledge of auditing processes and methodologies including flowcharting.
- Solid understanding of current accounting (GAAP) and auditing (GAAS) principles.
- Solid understanding of internal control concepts (e.g. COSO, COBIT).
- Solid knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance.
