Job Description

This role will be located at the Client site in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Position Summary

Oversees day-to-day activities of the business analyst team responsible for specifying business requirements to support the technical design and application development of healthcare reporting solutions.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead the customer through steps of SDLC associated with the delivery of BI solutions; Requirements, Design, Development, System Test, User Acceptance Test and Operations.
  • Define and document business requirements in Requirements Analysis Document that can be verified throughout the SDLC using Requirements Traceability Matrix.
  • Organize and facilitate requirement analysis meetings with user groups, department heads and project stakeholders to define business requirements.
  • Facilitate source to target data mapping exercises for data sources.
  • Document "as is" business process models and define "to be" business process models.
  • Clarify issues relating to scope and business requirements for project team (including technical implementation team, project management and client management).
  • Facilitate data quality program to evaluate, report and remediate data quality issues.
  • Develop test plans to verify system meets business requirements and aid user community in user acceptance test planning and execution.
  • Provide on-site support (e.g., client inquiries, requests for ad hoc reporting assistance, miscellaneous research, advice on analytic methods) and training to end users.
  • Define business requirements for change requests, investigate issues/defects and define remediation requirements.
  • Conduct business analysis to assess patterns/conditions in healthcare data to drive programs and decision making that lower cost and improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Conduct user group forums to share analytic methods and findings.


Qualifications

REQUIRED Skills and Experience
  • 2+ years experience leading Business Analysts for data warehouse projects.
  • 4+ years experience as a business analyst OR healthcare payer system experience.
  • 2+ years experience working with Medicaid data.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex ideas in an easily understood manner to guide audience through written or verbal communications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Visualization.
  • Experience building requirements for new application development, understanding of SDLC.
  • Experience in applying health analysis methods and measures utilizing statistical methods, data mining, predictive modeling, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand industry issues and problems, relate them to clients' needs, and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to take initiative and work independently, ability to collaborate and build consensus.

PREFERRED Skills and Experience
  • 6+ years experience as business analyst for data warehouse OR business intelligence projects.
  • Experience with large scale system development.
  • Knowledgeable in technology, specifically data warehousing.
  • Competent in at least one BI technology (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects).
  • Competent in at least one analytics technology (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS).
  • Competent in at least one geospatial technology (e.g., mapinfo, ESRI).
  • Understanding of both technical and business process MITA requirements.

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics OR related field.
