Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Management
  • Management and supervision of the SSC Finance team.
  • Develop the team, review and implement best practice processes and review team performance regularly.
  • Provide training and guidance during new process implementation(s).


Financial - SSC
  • Responsible for all finance functions and the financial integrity of the subsidiaries.
  • Ensure the smooth running of daily finance operations including invoicing and payments processing and that proper controls are in place for cash management, accounts payable and accounts receivables.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets register, bank reconciliations and notes to the accounts.
  • Effective control of all physical inventories and appropriate reserves.
  • Ensure depreciation and useful lives comply with Nordson's standards.
  • Reivew commentary provided by local controllers for Corporate reporting to ensure accurate reporting of accruals on a monthly basis.
  • Optimize finance and accounting processes by leading best practice processes, metrics and controls within the team.
  • Review and update SOX documentation based on new organizational structure and processes.
  • Oversee all internal and external audits, tax, secretarial and treasury functions; closely cooperating with business controllers, internal auditors, corporate tax, treasury and legal team on initiatives and requirements to ensure that entities comply on all aspects with the corporate authorization matrix.
  • Ensure appropriate sales recognition in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Maintaining good relationships with bankers, government agencies, regulatory institutions and finance counterparts of customers and suppliers.
  • Other projects as needed.


Financial / Operational Accounting (For Local Operations and Statutory purposes)

External / Statutory audits for Singapore and Hong Kong Treasury matters - including applying BG etc for tradeshows Cash Flow projections Local Tax ( GST and Corporate Tax) matters Payroll / Social Insurance reporting Corporate Secretariat matters Any other projects assigned by the Controller

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience required, CPA or local equivalent a plus.
  • 10 years experience ideally gained through increasingly responsible positions within the finance organisation.
  • 5 years recent experience assisting with responsibility for accounts, credit and collections, finance and operational experience in a business unit.
  • 3 years experience as Head of Finance.


Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems and well-developed financial analysis capabilities. Strong Excel skills required. SAP knowledge required.
  • Sound administrative skills. Well-developed management skills - principles and people.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance is advantageous
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
  • A working manager with a participative management style - advocate team concept.
  • Proficient in both spoken an written English.
  • Prior experience working in a Shared Service environment.
