POSITION PURPOSE:Responsible for the complete, timely execution of the Accounting Operations in good quality in the area of General Ledger & local statutory financials for Bayer CropScience Limited, a listed legal entity on local stock exchange according to the defined activity split.Contribute to the reliability of the books in his/her scope of responsibility allowing a certification by external auditors

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. General Ledger: Initiate creating and changing request for GL accounts according to defined work proceduresPerform manual General Ledger posting for special cases as defined within the activity split. Support the increase of standard cases and involve business into the defined workflows (e.g. WPA in GL). Support the reduction of postings as long as in line with BKA guideline. Monitoring of Accounts which are in responsibility of the country.Monitor Accounts/ WPA requests and perform automatic clearingIs responsible to do postings and evaluation (perform plausibility checks). This being important activity since on account of local financial year is Apr-Mar and significant GAAP differences arising out of local materiality & legal entity view.

B. Closing: Support the overall local closing process together with the SSO Organization.Review the result of different kind of processes from Local statutory perspective e.g. revenue recognition and follow up with business; Calculate impending losses and perform manual posting.Responsible for coordinating with Group Actuary & HR Department for valuation of Long Term Employee Benefit provision 3 times in a year, accounting thereof on monthly basis and getting the same audited from Statutory Auditors for Local as well as Group reporting

C. Reporting: Prepare Combined financial statements of BCSL post merger of BCSL using PBC system with Erstwhile MIL using P08 system and get it auditedPrepare, coordinate, deliver standalone financial statement for PBC system, incl. implementation of new regulation/ law, identification of posting requirements based on legal entity materiality, posting, review and reporting.Prepare Local and group financials reconciliations for management review on quarterly basisEnsuring compliance with the disclosure and presentation requirements as specified by the Indian Statutes, Accounting Standards, other pronouncements of ICAI and Listing Agreement.Responsible for finding out SAP GL solution for Accounting of GAAP difference.Prepare and deliver additional 7 times local financials for Advance Tax and ETR/ Cash-flow reporting.Prepare details for RBI reporting on yearly basisSpecific activities, being listed on local stock exchange:- Perform quarterly fiancials reporting for the purpose local stock exchange and shareholder reporting- Coordinate and prepare financial folder for quarterly Audit Committee and Board Meeting (consisting of Independent Directors), half yearly external Investors Meet and Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.- Coordinate and Prepare answers to shareholder's & investor's queries and also Investors Meet related to local statutory financials of the Company.- Coordinate publication of Annual Report and Quarterly Publication Page to Stock Exchange and Proof Reading thereof.Prepare Related Party listing on quarterly basis as required under The Companies Act for all Related Party Transactions with Bayer Group Companies and Companies in which Independent Directors are Directors.Coordinate & deliver XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) reporting (as prescribed by the Local Authority) for local statutory financials in specific format

D. Audit and Control & Others: Support external & internal audit. Perform ICS controls in his/her own area of expertise and responsibility.Specialized ad hoc support and project support specific to own area of expertise.Arranging ad-hoc Certification related to financials of the Company from Qualified Chartered Accountant/ Statutory Auditor

WHO YOU ARE:
  • Chartered Accountant qualification with minimum 6-7 year working experience in finance and/or accounting dept. or other similar positions along 3 years' experience in preparation of statutory accounts in Accounting department of a listed manufacturing company and excellent knowledge on system settings and internal controls
  • Basic knowledge of Bayer Group accounting and reporting requirements (BRIDGE and BKA)
  • Expert knowledge & practical experience of implementation of local GAAP, IFRS, Stock Exchange and other local laws reporting requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Subgroup specific related accounting practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Good knowledge of MS office and related software
  • Expert FI/CO SAP knowledge
  • Fluent English in writing and speaking
