About The Company

Wren Kitchens is the UK's number 1 kitchen retailer! Wren is a privately-owned, family-run business which is passionate about kitchens and delivering a world-class customer experience. In the financial year of 2019 we recorded revenue of £700m.

We're proud to say that we manufacture all our kitchens out of three, state-of-the-art factories, here in the UK. Wren is famous for having the biggest range of kitchens. We provide tailored kitchens at DIY prices. And with the largest range of colours and styles, Wren provide the creative freedom to inspire customers and build their dream kitchens.

In 2019 Wren was proudly named #1 top-rated retail workplace in the UK. In addition to this, The Telegraph recognised us as the fastest-growing bricks and mortar retailer and the Sunday Times ranked us as the 12th largest, privately owned company in the UK.

About The Role

Are you currently studying a Btec or Degree in a subject related to surveying at University or College, such as building surveying, construction, engineering or architecture and have a keen interest in developing your experience whilst you study? If your answer is yes, we have the perfect part time opportunity for you to gain extensive work experience, whilst allowing you to complete your studies at the same time!

We're currently looking for two highly motivated students in the Swindon area who are looking to develop their skills and experience in the workplace. Our Student Survey and Planning Auditors will work from one of our fantastic showrooms spread across the UK, travelling to our customers houses to provide an expert home measure service. You will complete the survey on their kitchen and record all details electronically before uploading to the Wren network.

We currently have two roles available:

  • 18 hour contract, 4 days per week covering 6 hours on a Sunday, and then 4 hours on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 16:00 to 20:00
  • 16 hour contract, 3 days per week covering 8 hours on a Saturday, and 4 hours on a Thursday and Friday from 16:00 to 20:00
During your studies, you'll work the part time hours as above, but during the periods throughout the year when you are not at University/College such as the Easter and Summer holidays we will have a high demand for surveys due to our peak sales periods and there may therefore be the potential of overtime available, to allow you to increase your earnings and gain further experience in the role.

Critical purpose of role:

  • Ensure every customer receives an outstanding experience
  • Provide an expert home measure
  • Adhere to all legal requirements and compliance processes
Main Responsibilities:

  • Visit customers property to complete home surveys and highlight any potential installation or access issues that could lessen the customer experience
  • Report to the Survey and Planning Auditor Manager with any required training or assistance you may need
  • Attend regular meetings with the other Auditors to offer improvement feedback and share ideas
  • Liaise with the Kitchen Sales Consultants to ensure they are aware of any additional requirements
  • Feedback with any potential delivery or access issues

About You

About You:

  • Currently studying a Surveying or a related subject / degree at University or College
  • Full driving licence is essential with the ability to drive an SGV (Special Goods Vehicle)
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Smart appearance with a can do attitude
