The Team

HPFT Finance Department is committed to training, development, and continuous improvement; we are accredited with Future Focused Finance at Level 1, and registered as an Employer for CPD purposes with Cima, ACCA, and CIPFA. We have a commitment to and history of internal development, with almost all of the current management team having joined at a more junior level and gained promotions.

We are a well-respected team within the wider organisation, with a strong track record, proven as a previous winner of the HFMA Finance Team of the Year award. Our base is in a newly refurbished suite within the Trust's Head Office in Hatfield. Following a reorganisation we have created a number of new roles and are looking for the right individuals to join us.

We are looking for Finance Managers to join the Finance Team based at HPFT's Head Office in Hatfield.

The right candidates will be experienced, confident, qualified accountants, as these roles will be key to effectively implementing our recent department restructure. There is up to 1.25 fte available and we are keen to hear from candidates who want to work part-time flexible hours, though we would also consider 1.00 full-time. Exact days and hours are open for discussion with applicants. The role will take a lead on reviewing the activities and reporting of one of our Business Units (SBUs), which each have c. £40m of expenditure budgets. Providing leadership, influence, regular reporting, and costing information to the SBU will be essential, in order to maintain financial grip and help support the Delivering Value (CIP) Programme.

There is likely to be a particular focus on Secondary Commissioning but this will form part of wider responsibilities that will require close working with both the SBU Management Accountant and Finance Business Partner. Training provision to non-finance staff will also be required as is the ability to travel to different sites throughout Hertfordshire, as well as Essex, Norfolk and Buckinghamshire.
