Job Title: Head of Finance

Job Type: Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Singapore

Reports To: Co-founder & COO

Role Purpose: Responsible for leading and managing Cove's regional finance department (covering Singapore and Indonesia) and providing strategic financial advice and support to the founders and senior managers.

Goals/Deliverables:
  • Manage and continue to develop the finance function at Cove
  • Build, implement and lead Cove's financial planning, analysis, cash management, governance and controls processes
  • Monthly financial reporting - internally and to external stakeholders
  • Accountable for annual financial audited accounts at both group and subsidiary level
  • Introduce risk management controls and best practices, especially in respect to lease liability management
  • Ensure accurate runway forecasting and management in the context of geographic expansion and business development
  • Ensure tax efficiency of Cove's product offering in relation to VAT, GST, withholding tax and other relevant taxation
  • Introduce robust suite of project-level revenue reporting SOPs, able to capture a diverse suite of agreements with Real Estate partners (spanning lease, revenue share, management agreement, and hybrid models) and that can be progressively automated over time
  • Expand Cove's financing options beyond equity and venture debt, and progressively introduce trade finance and other debt or debt-like products (e.g. receivables financing; bank or insurance guarantees; etc.) into Cove's financing mix
  • Delivery of strategic finance projects in cooperation with other departments (e.g. payments tech; analytics & reporting automations; introduction of multi-level holdco + subsidiary structure for risk management; etc.)


Core Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for structured, regular and accurate book keeping and accounting at both subsidiary and group consolidation level
  • Cash-flow management including overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and driving the efficiency of these functions through progressive automation
  • Managing relationships with banking and trade/working capital providers, including reporting and ensuring optimal utilization of financing products on offer
  • Understanding relevant tax regulations, and their impact on Cove at project and corporate structure level
  • Overseeing the day-to-day administration of Cove's tax commitments
  • Regular financial reporting to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Working with department heads on their financial analysis, planning and budgets to ensure that business financial targets are met
  • Implementing and monitoring internal financial governance and controls processes, including relevant financial and ethical compliance laws and best practices (anti-bribery, AML, KYC, etc.)
  • Ensuring financial practices are in line with local regulations and legislation, and international IFRS standards
  • Analysis of financial climate and trends to support senior management strategic business planning
  • Ongoing liability monitoring and stress-testing, in respect to lease commitments
  • Conducting strategic financial analysis and planning to ensure Cove meets committed business targets in the short and longer term
  • Managing the finance team ensuring all positions are filled and that team members are engaged, motivated and trained on all relevant topics
  • Continue to develop Cove's financial capability and org structure in line with the business' growth ambitions
  • Identify and implement tech solutions to improve finance processes for internal team members and our external customers and other stakeholders
  • Assist founders with financial implications of corporate strategy

Requirements:

University graduate ideally with an analytical or finance related degree

Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Strategic Finance role, with at least 3 years specific experience in Real Estate and lease management

CFA Level III qualification
