Reporting to the General Manager - Investment Management, this role is responsible for managing the News Corp Australia investments. In this role you will:
- Review business cases submissions prior to review by Investment Management
- Provide financial support in the ongoing strategic review of all growth & efficiency initiatives
- Manage the minor BAU capex pool of investments
- Ensure the pipeline of investment and forecast cash flows are accurate
- Prepare monthly management reporting and forecasts on projects
- Assist with the transition of projects to the NCA project management tool
What's the role?
- Deep dive in the review of business cases submitted to Investment Management, including review/challenge of financial models, returns and hurdle rates.
- Monitor & ensure the future pipeline of investments is up to date and reflects the enterprise-wide view of upcoming submissions and expected cash flows
- Maintain the investment initiative register to ensure financial information is up to date
- Assist in the investment prioritisation and re-calibrate funding across strategic pillars
- Develop a benefits tracking process against KPIs to assess project performance and how the investments contribute to overall financial targets in the Long Range Plan
- Assist with developing processes in the newly created investment management function and rolling-out to the business
- Monitor and manage the BAU capex investment budget
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office and Strategic Program Office with the adoption of Planview (project management tool) across the business and become the Finance SME
- Ensure month-end reporting is optimised (including dashboard review), data is complete and financials are accurate in Planview.
- Build collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Strategic Project Office, FP&A and respective Finance GM's.
Who are you?
- 5+ years of proven experience Commercial Finance position(s) and/or Corporate Finance
- CFA or CA/CPA qualified (preferred)
- Strong written & communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement
- Stakeholder engagement
- Commercial acumen
