As Financial Accountant, you will be providing high-quality professional accounting services within a small team in an environment where people are passionate about making a difference in peoples' lives. Reporting to the GM of Finance, you are highly analytical and accurate with impressive problem-solving skills. You will bring high energy and initiative to the role and you will be able to communicate effectively with all levels.
On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly financial reports and their associated journals
- GL reconciliations and maintaining the Fixed Asset register
- Financial advisory support to management and business units
- Financial analysis for senior management presentations
- Quarterly BAS & annual FBT return
- Assisting with annual audit and tax return
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years' accounting experience within a commercial environment
- Tertiary Accounting or Finance degree and CPA qualification
- Strong understanding and proven application of Accounting Standards
- Experience working for a member-based organisation or peak body
- A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of your work
- Experience working with complex systems and process
- Fixed Asset register maintenance experience
- Experience in assisting statutory account preparation
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional communication skills
- Extensive experience with stakeholder management
- Proven ability to verify information for accuracy and relevance
- Experience with Sage 300 (formerly Sage AccPac) will be highly regarded
