The role...

As Financial Accountant, you will be providing high-quality professional accounting services within a small team in an environment where people are passionate about making a difference in peoples' lives. Reporting to the GM of Finance, you are highly analytical and accurate with impressive problem-solving skills. You will bring high energy and initiative to the role and you will be able to communicate effectively with all levels.

On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and their associated journals
  • GL reconciliations and maintaining the Fixed Asset register
  • Financial advisory support to management and business units
  • Financial analysis for senior management presentations
  • Quarterly BAS & annual FBT return
  • Assisting with annual audit and tax return
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years' accounting experience within a commercial environment
  • Tertiary Accounting or Finance degree and CPA qualification
  • Strong understanding and proven application of Accounting Standards
  • Experience working for a member-based organisation or peak body
  • A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of your work
  • Experience working with complex systems and process
  • Fixed Asset register maintenance experience
  • Experience in assisting statutory account preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional communication skills
  • Extensive experience with stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to verify information for accuracy and relevance
  • Experience with Sage 300 (formerly Sage AccPac) will be highly regarded
