Newly Qualified Accountant job with a highly regarded business in the Scottish Borders
Your new company
I am delighted to be Exclusively partnered with a highly aspirational Infrastructure and development organisation based in the Scottish borders. Our client have gone from strength to strength over the last 6 months and they are now looking to strengthen the finance team with a Financial Accountant. This is truly exciting role joining an ambitious company on their journey where you will gain a broad exposure across business operations and act as a key stakeholder and advisor in the Finance team.
Our client are going through an exciting period of change and continued growth over the next year. This opportunity would suit a motivated and driven individual looking to add value and progress with the business. This role requires 2-3 days of office working weekly in the borders with flexible working opportunities.
Your new role
You will report into the Finance Manager working within a fast paced and hands on environment. This role will support the establishment of new processes and procedures, preparation of financial accounts under IFRS, budgeting and forecasting, VAT and Tax. You will also be responsible for preparing high quality financial information to corporate level and supporting adhoc project work.
This role requires a strong technical accountant with a strong attention to detail to comply with changes in legislation and statutory obligations. You will be supporting key stakeholders across the business with Management information and liaising with external parties. Additionally you will be responsible for cash-flow and budgets and accounting for assets.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a small and yet specialised team so an inquisitive mind and ability to investigate and innovate processes are important for the financial accountant to succeed here. You will be a qualified accountant or in final stages of qualification with a proven history in financial accounting or auditing under IFRS and strong problem solving skills. You will have the ability to support commercial and statutory reporting processes across the team and have an ambitious nature to further yourself and the business you are joining. Our client is looking for an experienced accountant with a customer focus and ability to develop processes in a newly established role.

Our client offer a great benefits package with a basic salary between £37,000 - £42,000 per annum and excellent pension scheme.
