About Standard Chartered

We are a leading international bank focused on helping people and companies prosper across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

To us, good performance is about much more than turning a profit. It's about showing how you embody our valued behaviours - do the right thing, better together and never settle - as well as our brand promise, Here for good.

We're committed to promoting equality in the workplace and creating an inclusive and flexible culture - one where everyone can realise their full potential and make a positive contribution to our organisation. This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.

PURPOSE:
• The Conduct metrics project is a critical way which will allow us to identify the conduct related risks in our organization. It will additionally support our ongoing reporting and monitoring of Conduct.
• Further this solution directly helps to ensure and support our Senior Managers to evidence their oversight of conduct outcomes under the Market Abuse Regulation. The Bank has an obligation to provide the appropriate tools to support our Senior Managers execute their responsibilities and this is a critical tool for that purpose.
• We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst with strong Techno-Functional skills who will work directly with multiple software teams and Surveillance users to help consistently deliver upon commitments

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strong working knowledge of the financial products (at least one asset class). This includes understanding the nature of the products, payoff and booking consideration.
• Working knowledge of the booking systems (preferably Murex). Even though most of the data would be picked up from the data lakes (TDS3/ODL), an innate understanding of upstream TP system would be needed to appreciate the context of the data
• Data skills and ability to solutionise based on business requirements. There is a possibility that many of the business requirements may be high level and business analyst support in the solutioning based on these inputs.
• In addition, BAs are expected to have good data base skills and working knowledge of KDB databases. Most of the input data related to trades may come in an XML format (MXML and otherwise), so BAs are expected to have an ability to read through the data in an XML format.
• Detailing of variables - There are multiple upstream systems which may be supplying similar data which needs to be accumulated through a same field (for e.g. quantity in a trade or an actor id), it is important to make sure that the analysis is done over a wider spectrum of data so that the data coverage is as exhaustive as possible.
• Challenge of Normalisation - Disparate upstream systems create another level of complexity related to normalisation of the data and it is critical for surveillance processes. Surveillance team would expect BAs to work proactively to normalise the data in-addition to the mapping activities
• Business focused solutioning - Surveillance team expects BAs to play a techno functional role by partnering with business to come up with creative solutions to help in solving business problems. Focus of the BAs must be on providing a holistic solution instead of individual JIRAs so that the solution is complete and comprehensive.
