Accountant

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with a mechanical solutions and supplier to recruit an Accountant for their team. This dynamic opportunity provides the ability to manage all Accounting and Finance responsibilities of a growing yet stable local company.

The Role:

• Prepare monthly and year-end journal entries and accruals with supporting documentation, liaising with external accountant as needed
• Supervise and Review A/R, A/P and sales reports
• Prepare and process payroll
• Complete Canadian and US Bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, government remittances, and EFT payments
• Assess, provide and implement recommendations for process improvements for existing accounting and finance operations
• Ability to manage some Human Resource projects, IT and some general office Management

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with full-cycle accounting and financial management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, be an autonomous self-starter and be highly organized
• Relevant post-secondary education including an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Working towards completing an Accounting designation is an asset but not necessary
• Knowledge of Sage 300 software is preferred
