job description Randstad is proud to be partnering with this multimedia organisation with an industry recognisable name, who are seeking a Company Accountant for a 6 month fixed term contract opportunity working 3 days per week (potential to go perm, but no guarantees at this point) based in Melbourne's CBD (WFH until restrictions are lifted).

About the role:

This role will see you partnering with the current accountant and finance manager, where you will contribute to the financial sustainability of the business, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements including the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly accounts.

Your key duties will include, but not limited to:
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual procedures to meet statutory reporting obligations including FBT, BAS, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, Novated Leases and ABS surveys.
  • Prepare and manage monthly and year-end financial accounts and reporting to Executive, Board and key stakeholders and balance sheet and other reconciliations.
  • Prepare weekly revenue report and manage sales commissions.
  • Manage payroll via external provider for payment of wages and superannuation including statutory superannuation for contractors.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts and tracking to budget analysis.
  • Prepare requirements for external audit and liaise with auditors regarding financial accounts.

About you:

You are a natural leader and problem solver with a demonstrated sound knowledge and application of accounting principles. In addition to having 3-4 years previous experience in a similar accounting role, your skills and attributes include:
  • Ability to think on your feet , self motivated and forward thinking
  • A high level of stakeholder engagement skills and experience partnering with various stakeholders
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and time management capabilities
  • CA / CPA qualified
  • Experience using Great Plains is essential
