Based at our manufacturing facility in Eagle Farm, Brisbane, we have a vacancy for a Senior Operations Accountant to provide high quality financial support to the business unit, through the provision of timely and relevant business cost accounting, analysis, reporting and controls. You will form part of the wider Finance team, reporting into the National FP&A Manager with a strong dotted line to the Business Unit Management team both locally and in Singapore.

The role will include the following key financial responsibilities incorporating all manufacturing and service locations across Australia, with a focus on product costing, inventory controls and operational reporting.

Financial reporting & controlling:
  • Review order results analysis & settlement, sales and margin reporting
  • Month-end headcount and cost variance reporting including construction of P&L forecasts and bridges for location and value streams to facilitate management reviews
  • Preparation of and support preparation of AR's
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to ANZ Internal Control Questionnaire (ICQ), with full responsibility for internal & external audit relating to inventory, costing and operational processes
  • Partner with GL team to support and assist with review of month end closing activities and reporting

Operational controlling (with a focus on product costing, inventory controls & operational reporting)
  • Analyse and manage manufacturing and service utilisation, recoveries and capacity planning
  • Manufacturing plant and service-related scorecard reporting
  • Milestone/project billing (SAP)
  • Analyse, manage and perform product costing processes on an annual and ad-hoc basis, including support for related functional inputs
  • Lead and assist business with inventory and cost control analysis and management initiatives to improve financial performance, process improvements and standardisation
  • Respond to enquiries from global and regional leadership for inventory and cost analysis and related information

Strategic Business Partnering:
  • Assist in the development of annual operating and strategic plans playing a key Finance partner role on major projects such as legal entity consolidations & carve-in / carve-out topics
  • Coordinate and compile the annual operations budget including recovery rate calculations, annual standard cost roll outs, freight rate reviews
  • Partner with business leads to support ad-hoc business needs, analysis and requirements
  • SAP usage SME - key contributor in identifing non optimum practices, highlight, educate and standardise

Health, Safety and Environmental Requirements
  • Have or gain a working knowledge of current HSE statutory and Corporate expectations and their implications.
  • Have or gain a working knowledge of business and departmental HSE risks and their control measures.
  • Have or gain a working knowledge of HSE risk management techniques.
  • Provide exemplary leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental performance.
  • To communicate HSE expectations to subordinates and contractors so they are known and complied with.
  • Monitor HSE performance of work activities.
