Junior Accounting Analyst
Insurance Firm located in Elmwood Park, NJ seeks an Accounting Analyst for an immediate temp to possible perm role.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from general ledger system (SAP); provide monthly detail to the Controller for General Journal entries; insure proper recording.
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
• Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often on short notice - by the CFO or Controller.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• A Bachelors degree in accounting, or a Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required.
• Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
• Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets.
• Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting is required.
Salary is up to $45K per year.
