The

Treasury Advisor

will manage client engagements and develop thought leadership on best practices, with a particular focus on working capital management and digital organizations. Preference is for an industry expert with experience gained as a corporate practitioner or consultant. The position calls for expertise in corporate treasury and working capital management, a good understanding of strategic directions in these areas, and practical experience in the function and related subject areas. A commercial perspective is necessary in order to contribute to the objectives of the business. Finally, a strategic mindset is needed, as the person contributes to future directions for Citi in the areas concerned.

The position calls for expertise as a practitioner (and/or consultancy) in corporate trade financing and working capital management, deep understanding of the market's strategic direction in this space, familiarity with accounting and regulatory considerations, and practical experience in financing in these areas.

This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, as engagements are often at a senior level, both internally and externally. Writing articles and presenting at industry forums and client events will be expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client advisory engagements encompassing treasury and working capital management, applying knowledge of Finance and Accounting. This involves engaging clients, providing advice on performance improvement opportunities, and recommending best practice solutions in global treasury and working capital management.
  • Create and deliver thought leadership articles and presentations based on client engagements, practitioner experience in the industry, and leveraging partnerships with other advisory teams (internally and externally), third party vendors and the world-leading research capabilities of Citi.
  • There will be a particular focus on working capital management (Trade) and a requirement to be mindful of supply chain shifts and digital transformation across multiple industries and potential impacts.
  • Ability to understand the life cycle and evolution of treasury structures; people, processes and technology for digital supply chains and organizations.
  • Advise companies in assessing and addressing treasury challenges of operating in highly regulated emerging markets.
  • Assist clients to define and drive cross functional working capital initiatives.
  • Assist to define and quantify segment-based positioning for treasury advisory, focusing on digital organizations including packaging and pricing opportunities to accelerate penetration and revenue growth.
  • Provide insights to the development of best practice analytical solutions for clients, considering tax and accounting implications of corporate structures and banking solutions.
  • Provide insights on clients' global treasury and working capital priorities to Citi's sales/client coverage teams and product development teams, contributing to enhancing Citi's product competitiveness.


  • Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Corporate treasury experience and or consulting in corporate treasury fields
  • Master's degree in business/ finance / quantitative subject OR post-graduate professional qualification in finance field (e.g., Chartered/Certified Accountant, CFA, etc.)


  • Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred and managerial experience
